This calligraphic panel (levha) consists of the Fatiha surah written in five lines of celi sülüs script. There are illuminated cloud cartouches (beyne’s-sütur) between the lines. The colophon is set inside the rectangular framed panel to the right of the last line and reads Nemekahu Hâmid el-Âmidî ğufira zunûbuhu 1371 (Written by Hâmidü’l-Âmidî in 1371. May God forgive his sins.). The framed panels flanking the first and last lines are illuminated, and the area above the elongated letter sin of the besmele in the first line is decorated with halkâr style gilding. At the end of the surah is a large gold stop. The inscription is surrounded by an inner border with a gold cable motif on a blue ground and an outer border filled with halkâr gilding. To the right of the framed panel containing the colophon are the words ‘Keepsake to Rikkat’. Evidently Hamid Aytaç gave the composition as a keepsake to Rikkat Kunt who must have illuminated it herself.
