digitalSSM Archive & Research

<p><span>digitalSSM Archives and Research encompasses a range of disciplines, including digital curation, collections and archive management, digital preservation, and digital humanities. Projects often bring together different expertise through interdisciplinary collaborations and partnerships with museums, universities, independent arts initiatives and industrial organisations.<br />
The research aims to help generate new knowledge, address practical problems, develop new tools for application, and contribute to wider discussion.</span></p>

<p>digitalSSM&nbsp;Archives and Research&nbsp;provide open access to SSM databases of collections and archives to make a contribution to Turkey's cultural heritage by providing a significant source to the use of scholars, researchers, curators, collectors, art history students and fans of Turkish and Islamic art.<br />

<div><img src="https://drupal.sakipsabancimuzesi.org/sites/default/files/2022-03/dgtl5.jpg" alt="Technological Arts Preservation" /><p><p>Sabancı University is introducing a new research project titled ‘Technological Arts Preservation’ led by Sakıp Sabancı Museum’s archive and research space digitalSSM. The project will begin with a panel on ‘Conservation of Software-based art,’ followed by a conference on ‘Preservation of Net Art’ on 15 November 2019. The events will continue with a workshop held on 16 November 2019.</p>

Technological Arts Preservation

<div><img src="https://drupal.sakipsabancimuzesi.org/sites/default/files/2022-02/ALT_2-web.jpg" alt="digitalSSM Açık Erişim" /><p><p>digitalSSM, implemented by the SSM in collaboration with Sabanci University Information Centre, is a pioneering project in Turkey, encompassing the transfer of all the collections and archives of a museum to the digital media. The contents of the Arts of the Book and Calligraphy Collection, the Painting Collection, the Abidin Dino Archives and the Emirgan Archives are now on the digitalSSM website, together with more than 77 thousand high resolution visuals.</p>

The ultimate goal of the dashboard to automatically quantify the risks as well as the technical debt carried by the digital artworks in the inventory of the dashboard.</p>
